Fun with Tim Holtz Tattered Florals

Two hours, lots of flowers, no one registered, but I still had fun! In an attempt to get people to register for my Scrapbook Design & You classes at AC Moore, I agreed to do a paper crafting demo they had scheduled.

The weather was beautiful, so not many people strayed into the store, but it was okay. I used the time to relax and focus on creating with paper and forgetting about the craziness going on my life. Two hours of sheer paper playing pleasure!

Lucky me, I got to demo Tim Holtz Alterations Tattered Florals Bigz die and Clearsnap Smooch Spritz! Usually I spritz my paper flowers with water before crumbling, use a heat gun to dry, and then distress them with ink. But when you demo, you have to use what they give you. So I used the Smooch Spritz to wet the paper before crumbling and somehow I managed not to get my hands dirty when unfolding them.  But I did feel a little silly waving the unfolded flowers in the air to dry.

Because I used the Smooch Spritz I didn’t have to worry about not having ink available to distress the flowers. Although, a little Antique Linen Distress Ink sponged on would add a little extra depth. What can I say…I love ink!

Supplies: DCWV La Creme Stack, Tim Holtz Alterations Tattered Florals Sizzix Bigz Die, Clearsnap Smooch Spritz Vanilla Shimmer, Foo-Fa-La Bag-O-Buttons, DCWV Box of Cards.

Until next time…keep creating!

Your flowers are amazing, and it’s interesting that they are made out of paper as I can hardly tell from looking at the photograph. It is a work of art, and very professionally done. I love it! Well done.
